Government investment and partnerships between industry, academia and research institutions are driving significant growth in the GBA's intelligent manufacturing sector. The region combines the R&D strengths of Hong Kong and Macao with the extensive industrial base of the nine Pearl River Delta cities, creating an environment where the entire industrial value chain is locally accessible, from foundational research to production, financing and talent support.
To advance this expansion, Guangdong has allocated RMB 26.2 billion (USD 3.6 billion) to its 'manufacturing-first' strategy. In addition, state-owned enterprises will invest more than RMB 20 billion (USD 2.8 billion) in artificial intelligence by 2027, with the goal of establishing an industry worth over RMB 100 billion (USD 14 billion).[1]
Aligning with these initiatives, SPS – Smart Production Solutions Guangzhou 2026 will bring together leading automation suppliers and manufacturers across more than 30 application sectors, including automotive engineering, 3C electronics, home appliances, food and beverage and new energy. At the fair, manufacturers will find the hardware, software and customised systems needed to improve product quality, enhance efficiency and modernise their operations. The event also draws on the international SPS network to link global technology providers with regional manufacturers, helping Chinese companies find international partners and overseas suppliers establish operations in the GBA.
The 2026 edition will feature leading smart manufacturing companies from around the world. Confirmed exhibitors as of October include AKUSENSE, Autonics, Binder, BRTR, CloudPhys, Controlway, Defuro, Dingshi, ESPE, Gaocheng, Gotytech, Haitec, Heyi, Hongrun, Jiaerling, Jiawei, JSCC, Keli, Linghang Robot, MARVTECH, Mouser Electronics, Odot, RayThink, Rongyue, Shijie Intelligent, SINCEVISION, Sipeize, SUENW, Sygole, Taichun, Tianli, Tongchuang, UTL, Wanjie Electronic, Wattsan, Weide Electric and others, covering key areas of smart production and factory automation.
Three co-located fairs to create a comprehensive platform for manufacturing technologies
In 2026, SPS – Smart Production Solutions Guangzhou will once again be held concurrently with Guangzhou Industrial Technology and Asiamold Select – Guangzhou. Together, the three co-located fairs will address a wide range of manufacturing needs, from smart manufacturing, industrial automation and robotics to production tooling including moulds, stamping and additive manufacturing technologies.
Within this platform, Guangzhou Industrial Technology will debut the new International Robot and Intelligent Equipment Zone, joining the established Asiabearing. This area will showcase the latest technologies across the sector, from core components and system integration to complete industrial applications, with other product categories including industrial robots, service robots, specialised robotics, intelligent equipment, fluid and mechanical transmission, air compression technology and AI industrial applications.
Alongside, Asiamold Select – Guangzhou provides a complementary focus on component production technologies, showcasing everything from mould manufacturing, precision injection moulding and intelligent stamping technologies to die-casting and additive manufacturing solutions.
The combination of these three events creates a comprehensive platform for manufacturers and technology providers from across China and internationally. Technical sessions, business matchmaking and industry forums will run throughout, connecting suppliers with manufacturers and supporting the adoption of new technologies as the Greater Bay Area strengthens its position as a hub for smart manufacturing.
SPS – Smart Production Solutions Guangzhou is co-organised by Guangzhou Guangya Messe Frankfurt Co Ltd, China Foreign Trade Guangzhou Exhibition Co Ltd, Guangzhou Overseas Trade Fairs Ltd and Mesago Messe Frankfurt GmbH. Guangdong Association of Automation, Guangzhou Association of Automation and Guangzhou Instrument and Control Society serve as honourary organisers.
